VFX.Pub is intended to be like an inter-studio social list.

You can use it to:

-Organise inter-studio pub nights (we all have friends at FS, DNeg, MPC, WETA, ILM, ect.. this is a good way to make sure you know where and when they're going and maybe find a middle ground to meet)

-Talk about living standards in different countries/cities. Recently got a job in Singapore? Ask people who have been there to know what to expect in terms of cost of life, what to watch out for when looking for your apartment, ect...

-Talk about cool CG stuff, technological breakthroughs and the latest Marvel Epic.

-Show off your personal work and ask for help with it. Are you a lighter needs a model to light at home? Maybe a modeller has a few Zsculpts
sitting around that you could use.

-We're even thinking of having a 'singles meetup' category.

-And much more depending on suggestions made by the community.

the rules are simple, real names, don't break NDAs, don't slander people or studios and no illegal content. Other than that anything goes.

It's in beta atm and needs traffic for stress testing. It is invite only atm to take sure it's not flooded with newbies and spam. It's completely non-profit and is currently running from a home server while iron-out the kinks. So expect downtime when it's migrated to a proper VPS or when the dynIP changes.
